Listen, I used instagram(0bviously) and I kind of believe that it is the laziest way to photoblog. However, I have to justify that these photos are not meant to be art or to be possibly printed and put in an album, but to document. instagram works well for that. Also, a couple tricks I’ve picked up that work well. don’t take your photos though instagram! take them through the camera and then import, and they won’t be so dumbed down. You’ll be able to do more with them that way. And another thing, if you want some of your instagram to stay off of your feed, then turn your phone on it’s airplane setting and then gram away, they won’t post to your feed. Then turn your phone off airplane mode. The photos will save to your phone, but not post. Tricky, huh?

dining room! finally, I completed refinishing the set. If I had taken before pics, you’d be impressed. But I did not, and therefore there will never be a tutorial on how I did them. Yep, lame.

One of my fav. details of the house. Love this light in the dining room.

Jax’s favorite place.

Just a glimpse into our new home. More to come when I get it together. We’ve been busy this weekend taking care of cars and trying to replace our water softener and fixing toilets. Oh, the joys of being grownups (and homeowners). Tomorrow we’ve got to figure out what’s eating our rosebushes, mow the front lawn, and put together garage storage shelving. Jealous?

The Boys

Bennett, Jax, and Dad. Bennett 5months(going on 6!) Jax, 1.5 years, and Dad (30!)

Oh, hi friend

Hello you. It’s me!

yep, we’re alive and well. I would like to happily inform you that we’ve been busy with life. (the non-internet kind) c l e a r l y.

We’ve accomplished some wonderful things.

closed escrow on our first home!
moved in!
traveled with Bennett to Hawaii!
swam with sea turtles!
Tim turned 30!

as usual, I apologize for the lack of updates. You deserve better. I told a friend recently, who inquired about the no-postness, that it is a bit like the unfortunate procrastination that happens when you haven’t called a friend in a long time…the longer you wait the harder it gets.

Check out some photos from Oahu…bet you wish you were snorkeling right now.

+ Pretty sure that this song is about plucking a duck.

+ 3month rocking chair photos to come.

+ he’s been sleeping a little more through the night, so I’m starting to feel human. Hurrah!

On Indecision

you guys, it’s getting bad. The knowing and then suddenly not knowing. I’ve always been bad about making a decsision, but as of late it’s been getting worse. The kind of things that I let go in circles around in my head are usually the silly things…like buying things online. I always have this great time shopping…spend hours picking out just the right red sweater…and when it finally makes it into the shopping cart…BAM! I just can’t commit to it. Only to come back 3 days later, when it is no longer on sale…and then I once again just have to have it.

It’s lucky that I haven’t had to make many hard decisions in my life, because I would suck at it. Just like I suck at ordering in drive thrus because I never have enough time to study the menu before ordering and end up with a bunch of random things I don’t want to eat. I fear the day when we’re ready to buy a house because I’ll be so scared of buyer’s remorse…no decision will ever be made.

Lately I’ve been stumbling with the idea of opening an etsy shoppe. I almost purchased $200.00 in beautiful fabric to start sewing things…but everytime
I come up with a good idea of things to craft, I find two dozen etsy shoppes that already sell it. I don’t think I can make a decision to open up shoppe until I think what I’m selling is going to be at least 75% authentic, otherwise what’s the point? I’m still figuring that out.
